What this is
- The service. Dealio is a way for a person outside China to ask a
client inside China to pay them, and for that payment to be made using
WeChat Pay or Alipay. Dealio is a trading name of Thomas Joseph Kidd
Shanahan, an Australian sole trader, ABN 97 922 742 244.
- Who the parties are. The agreement about the work is between the
person asking to be paid and the person paying. Dealio is not a party to
it. We do not set the price, judge whether the work was done, or take a
side if the two of you disagree.
- We are not a bank. Dealio is not a bank, an authorised deposit-taking
institution, or a money transmitter. Payments are processed and funds are
held by a licensed payment provider. Money does not pass through a Dealio
account and we do not hold it at any point.
Money
- Our fee. 2% of the amount received, deducted from the payment.
The person paying is charged the amount asked for and nothing more by
us.
- Other charges. The payment provider takes its own charges for
accepting the payment and for converting currency. These are set by them,
not by us, and they change from time to time. They are shown before a
payment is made.
- When you get it. Settlement timing is the payment provider's, not
ours. We do not guarantee a date.
- Currency. The payer is charged in their own currency. What the
recipient receives depends on the exchange rate applied at settlement,
which is the provider's rate on the day.
When something goes wrong
- Refunds. Ask the person you paid. They decide. If they agree, the
refund is made through the same channel and our fee is returned with it.
We will not refund a payment on one party's word alone.
- Chargebacks and disputes. If a payment is reversed by the payment
provider or the wallet, the amount and any charges come back out of the
recipient's money. That is the recipient's risk, not ours.
- Failed and expired payments. A payment code expires. An expired
or failed payment is simply not a payment; nothing is owed either way.
Using it properly
- Real work only. Every payment must be for a genuine service
actually agreed between two real people. Dealio must not be used to move
money between accounts you control, to disguise the purpose of a payment,
or to get around anybody's limits, reporting requirements or tax
obligations.
- Not for goods, not a marketplace. This is for services. We do not
hold money in escrow, we do not guarantee delivery of anything, and we do
not vet the people using it.
- Your own tax. Each person is responsible for their own tax. We do
not give tax advice and we do not withhold tax on anybody's behalf.
- Limits. The payment provider, the wallets and the relevant
regulators apply their own limits to what can be sent and how often.
These are not ours to lift.
- We can decline. We may refuse or stop any payment or account,
with or without a reason, including where a payment provider requires it.
The rest
- No warranty. The service is provided as it is. We do not promise
it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors.
- Liability. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any
claim connected with the service is limited to the fees we received on
the payment the claim is about. Nothing here limits rights you have under
the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be limited.
- Privacy. What is kept, and for how long, is set out at
the privacy page.
- Changes. These terms may change. The version on this page at the
time a payment is made is the one that applies to it.
- Law. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales,
Australia, and its courts.
- Contact. mo@thexchange.app
These terms are written in plain language and describe what
the service actually does. They have not been drafted by a lawyer. Before
this handles real money at any volume they should be reviewed by one.
